Baby Update

I promised some pictures of the baby's room. It's not quite ready, but it is coming along. Camryn's aunt Evelyn has done some fun wall art...

The dresser fiasco - so, I ordered a Graco dresser from Target and spent 3 hours putting it together. When I started trying to put the drawers in, I realized something was wrong. I thought I had totally screwed up and put the whole thing together wrong. After about 30 minutes of being pissed off that I screwed up, I realized that the bottom two drawers were fine. Turns out that it was screwed up when they sent it (the rails where the drawers slide in were put together wrong for the top two drawers). One of the pieces of the one of the drawers was also cracked. So, Sean called and asked them to send the parts. 1st time we got 2 back panels for the entire dresser and one correct rail (now we have 3 drawers). The 2nd time he called, we got one more rail and two more back panels. So, we still only have 3 drawers because we still have a cracked part. We never asked for any back panels, but we have 4 extra just in case :)

To everyone for the baby showers and gifts! Camryn will have everything she needs. I got so many great baby gifts and I'm so lucky to have such great friends and family. I used the gift card from my peeps at work to buy up everything that I still need from my Target registry.

I will put up pictures of the baby's room once I get everything set up. It looks so cute already!

Baby Shower

Thanks to my best girls for throwing my baby shower! It was lots of fun and baby Camryn got lots of new goodies! I got home on Sunday and put the crib together and started setting up her room. It looks so cute already.

Better Now! and 26 weeks

Went back to the doc on Tuesday. I saw a different doctor this time and he really calmed my nerves. No bed rest (Yay!). He said that as long as I am feeling good and don't notice anything really strange or painful that everything should be okay. I am going to go every two weeks now instead of every 4 just to be safe. It was a huge relief!

This is the last week of my 2nd trimester! It really has gone by so fast. I can't believe there will be a little baby girl at my house in 3 months. I'm so excited! But, I do have a lot to do. I haven't even started on the baby's room yet. Any volunteers for painting and moving furniture?

Scared

I've been a nervous wreck since my appointment on Tuesday. It turns out that my cervix is opening up and "funneling". My doctor seems pretty worried that I could go into preterm labor at only 24 weeks. I go back on Monday for another cervical length scan and a fetal fibronectin test to see if there are any changes. Most likely I will be put on bedrest for the next 3 to 4 months! I'm so bummed. Of course I will do anything it takes to keep the baby safe, but I'm going to miss out on soooo much! Val's baby shower, trip to Miami,decorating the baby's room, my baby shower in Raleigh, Thanksgiving, Christmas...

It's hard to be optimistic, but I guess anything can happen. My cervix could even close back up. Wish me luck on Monday! I'll keep everyone updated.

22 Weeks

I hate this picture, but my belly finally started poking out so I decided I would put one up...

It's a GIRL!

The ultrasound this morning was so cool! She was moving around and sucking her thumb. It was so cute! It definitely makes it seem more real. I can't wait to buy something pink :)

For the Record...

I think it's a girl. I have no idea why I think that, just a gut feeling. I'm so excited to find out tomorrow. Obviously I will be happy either way, but I just want to know if there is anything behind this. Plus, if it is a girl, I'm hoping for tons of hand me downs :) hint, hint Christy and Valerie :)

I also felt the baby move for the first time this week. I went home early from work on Monday because I had a really bad headache. I was laying on the couch and felt 3 little thumps. I wasn't even sure if it was the baby but now I really think it was :) Last night I woke up because there was a really bad storm and I felt the baby moving around again. It's the weirdest feeling (and very faint) but it was really exciting.

Pregnancy Insanity....

So, I had my first emotional breakdown this weekend. It was pretty funny because it was so stupid...

First, on Saturday night, Sean was doing laundry. He pulled one of my new maternity shirts out of the dryer and one of the ties had gotten caught in the dryer and ripped off. This was the second one. Of course, I was upset because I only have like 6 shirts that I can wear and the 2 that got messed up were my favorites. I didn't cry, but I came very close. I just threw the rest of my laundry on the table without folding it and laid back down on the couch. In my defense, my wardrobe is still very small in the maternity clothes department and the clothes are expensive!

On Sunday morning, I woke up with a headache. I made myself a bagel and some eggs and then of course threw that up. My 5 good days back at week 15 lasted just that long. 5 days without throwing up and now I'm back to daily. I just couldn't take it anymore. I'm just so tired of being sick and tired. I cried for about 5 minutes until the dog felt sorry for me and started licking my face.

For me, it's just so weird. I'm definitely not a crier. I just have to remind myself that it's the hormones :) Isn't pregnancy fun!

16 Weeks

Today was my 16 week appointment. I had an ultrasound to check my cervical length (b/c of the surgery I had a few years ago). Everything was fine. I got to see the baby bouncing around and hear the heartbeat. In the picture, the baby looks like it is sucking it's thumb :) It was really exciting. The doc says everything looks good.

I'm finally starting to feel better this week (other than a sick morning - probably just nervous about my appointment). Hopefully this is the end of it and everything will go smoothly for the next 26 weeks.

I'm still waiting to feel the baby move. Sometimes I think I might feel something, but I can't tell yet.

12 Weeks

I will be 12 weeks as of tomorrow. I had my dr's appt today. Everything went well. I finally got to hear the baby's heartbeat. It was 162 bpm which is more than 3X mine. That was really exciting and a big relief! The dr said that the baby was moving around a lot too.

I'm still sick :( I'm pretty sick of being sick. Everyone says that now is the time for it to start getting better, so I'm trying to hang in there.

I'm very excited for my next ultrasound. I find out if it's a boy or girl on August 23. Most of the predictions I've heard have said that it's going to be a boy. We'll see.

Oh! I almost forgot! Even though I feel like a big balloon, I've only gained 3 lbs!

First Ultrasound

I had my first ultrasound today! Everything was good. The baby is healthy and has a normal heartbeat that we got to see. I was sooo nervous this morning. I hardly got any sleep and my stomach was in knots. I had to throw up as soon as we walked outside (another embarrassing moment, hopefully nobody saw me dry heaving in the parking lot). Anyways, all is good and no complaining.

Morning Sickness

I guess it's a blessing and a curse all in one. It's a good sign that I'm not going to miscarry, so I guess it's worth feeling like crap for a few months. It's so hard to come to work every day feeling like I'm going to throw up at any moment (and I have twice now at work). I wouldn't come to work with a stomach virus. This is absolutely miserable. I'm trying to deal with it with a smile. It will be a much brighter smile if everything goes well next Thursday. Keep your fingers crossed :)

A Little Embarrassing

So, I went to the dr's office today for my first meeting with the nurse. It went fine, but then she sent me to have my blood drawn and to do a urine test. After the girl drew 5 vials of blood, I turned completely white and starting sweating. They had to send me to an ultrasound room to lay down and find me some crackers. Then, once I got it together,I had to pee in a cup. Somehow I peed all over my hand. Good times.

Babies Everywhere

It's crazy how everyone always seems to be pregnant at the same time. Right now my best buds Christy and Valerie are pregnant, Brooke is pregnant out in Cali, and 2 girls in my group at work are pregnant. Atleast when I'm ready to tell people about me, I will have lots to talk about (and hopefully they can help me through this since I am the last one)

I'm pregnant!

4 Weeks! I found out on Wednesday morning (May 9th). I decided to take a test because I woke up kind of dizzy. I hardly expected it to show that I was pregnant because I've been taking these tests for 8 months now with no luck since I had my miscarriage last year in July. I'm posting this today (on May 14), but most of you won't know anything until I have my first ultrasound on June 7 so I'll know that the baby has a heartbeat. This is probably the hardest thing I've ever had to wait for. I will probably worry every day until I actually hear the heartbeat. Anyways, I'm very excited, anxious, nervous, worried, etc. Wish me luck!
